Sev tamatar curry is one of the delicious authentic Indian curry recipe made from tomatoes and some simple Indian ingredients. This recipe is very well know in the villages and cities of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It goes really very good with simple roti, chapatti and paratha. Indian peoples oftenly make this easy sev tamatar curry for their lunch and dinner.

Ingredients used in this quick curry recipe are very common and exclusively available in almost every kitchen of the world. It is very simple curry but it gives very good taste which everyone likes and it is also one of the favourite of mine. Main Ingredients:

500 gm Chopped Tomatoes.
50 gm Sev.

Spices / Other Ingredients:

9 tsp Oil.
1 tsp Red Chili Powder.
½ tsp Cumin Seeds.
½ tsp Mustard Seeds.
3 tsp Chopped Garlic.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
½ tsp Garam Masala.
1 tsp Coriander and Cumin seeds Powder.
3 tsp Jaggery.
Salt to taste. 

Garnishing / Serving:

Some Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves.

Sev Tamatar Curry Preparations:

  • Heat the oil at high heat.
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, garlic and curry leaves.
  • Mix it very well.
  • Put tomatoes and turmeric powder in it.
  • Stir all the things every now and then.
  • When it’s around 50% cooked add red chili powder and water (add according to your need).
  • Mix all the things very well.
  • Add the salt, Jaggery, cumin seeds powder and Garam Masala.
  • Cook it for 5-7 minutes.
  • Finally add the sev and mix it very well.
  • Turn the heat off and garnish it with some fresh coriander leaves.
