Hello guys today here we are with a very healthy and delicious gujarati main course recipe which is well known as rice and dal khichadi. It’s a light food Indian dish which mostly gujarati people cook for dinner oftenly. This yum gujarati khichadi requires very few simple ingredients to cook plus it can be prepared in just few minutes is well. I personally like this easy rice and dal khichadi very much, and it is cooked almost every day at my home for dinner.

Mainly it is prepared from split moong dal and rice, cooking level of this rice dish is very easy so everyone can make this at home without any hustle. This dish is very good for the patients and it is also advised by the doctors. With this you may also like vegetable pulao, veg biryani and Bhakarwadi. So let’s start making this easy and quick khichadi.

Ingredients for Rice and Dal Khichadi:

Main Ingredients:

50 gm Rice.
50 gm Split Moong Dal.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

½ tsp Asafoetida.
2 Glass Water.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
Salt to Taste.

Rice and Dal Khichadi Preparations:

  • Heat two glass water with turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker.
  • When water starts bubbling add split mung dal and rice in it.
  • Cover the pressure cooker and cook it for 3 whistles.
  • After three whistles turn the heat and let it cook in pressure cooker steam for few minutes.
  • Now open the lead of pressure cooker, add and mix asafoetida well.
  • Serve the healthy gujarati mung dal khichadi with potato curry and enjoy.
