How to Make Puran Poli Recipe.

Hello friends today here we are with a very simple, easy and quick Maharashtrian cuisine recipe which is well known as puran poli. This Indian sweet recipe is really very simple and easy to make as well as requires very less time to cook is well. Usually it is prepared at the time of ganesh Chaturthi festival in Mumbai. Taste of this puran puri is really very fabulous and mouth clicking, specially your kids will goanna love this sweet dish.

This 5 ingredients recipe is prepared from wheat flour dough, cooked chana dal, jaggery, cardamom powder and ghee. You can make this healthy sweet recipe for any festivals, parties or any other occasions. This puran poli is also very popular in gujarat and people makes it oftenly. Along with this you may also like some other sweet dishes like Churma modak, coconut ladoo, malpua etc…………

Ingredients for Puran Poli:

Main Ingredients:

1 Cup Wheat Flour Dough.
1 Cup Cooked Split Bengal Gram or Chana Dal.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

½ Cup Jaggery.
1 tsp Cardamom Powder.
Pure Ghee as per required.

Puran Poli Preparations:

  • Take cooked chana dal in a non stick pan then turn the gas on and add jaggery in it.
  • Cook chana dal and jaggery till both get mixed nicely then add 1 tsp ghee.
  • When mixture leaves the pan that means the mixture is ready.
  • Now add cardamom powder and mix well, turn the heat off and let the stuffing mixture cool for few minutes.
  • Now take binded wheat flour and make small equal sizes of balls from it.
  • Take one ball and roll it like a puri or roti then put little stuffing mixture at centre and fold from every side.
  • Now again roll it like a puri, make all the puran poli similarly.
  • Now heat a tawa or griddle and put one puran poli on it, lower the heat and cook puran poli one side then turn the side.
  • Now apply ghee on it and cook both side till get cooked then take out in a serving plate and serve hot.
  • Make all the puran poli ready this way, you can also apply ghee after cooking both sides or while cooking it depends on you.
