How to Make Gujiya Chaat at Home | Street Food Recipe.

Hello friends today here we are with another tempting and mouthwatering Indian street food recipe which is known as gujiya chaat. It is one of the popular north Indian dish which you will find at street food shops and carts easily everywhere. But rather than having this kind of fast foods outside its batter to make at home. As they are not healthy as compared to the homemade. This is really very simple and easy to make chaat recipe plus quick too.

This Quick dahi gujiya chaat looks quite similar to dahi vada but different in taste and fillings of vadas. Mainly this chaat is prepared from split black gram, sweet curd, coconut, raisins, cashew nuts and some other spices. You can prepare this healthy and delicious gujiyas any time you want to eat and enjoy with your kids and family. Along with this you may also like some other street food recipes like sabudana vada, aloo samosa, bhel, surti locho, mini onion samosa, aloo tikki etc………..

Ingredients for Gujiya Chaat:

Main Ingredients:

150 gm Split Black Gram Soaked in Water for 6-7 Hours.
3 tbsp Grated Coconut.
3 tbsp Dry Raisins.
2 tbsp Chopped Cashew Nuts.
Whipped Sweet Curd as per required.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

Green Chutney as per required.
Jaggery Tamarind Chutney as per required.
1 tsp Cumin Powder.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
Salted Water as per needed.
Pinch of Asafoetida.
Oil for frying.

Garnishing:

Some Fresh Coriander Leaves.

Gujiya Chaat Preparations:

  • Take soaked split black gram in a mixer jar and blend it till become smooth paste.
  • It should be thick so add water only if need and add about 1 to 2 tsp water then add in asafoetida and whip it well and keep aside covered for 30 minutes.
  • Now put coconut, dry raisins and cashew nuts in bowl and mix well and keep aside.
  • Now put the gas on and heat oil, stir the black gram batter with a spoon, take a plastic sheet and grease with oil the put the batter on this sheet and spread it in round shape.
  • Now put coconut, dry raisins and cashews mixture about 1 tsp at the centre and fold the sheet and give gujiya shape to it, make all the gujiyas ready this way.
  • Now slowly put the gujiyas in medium hot oil for frying and fry till become nice golden brown.
  • Fry all the gujiyas then put in salted water and let them soak for 2-3 minutes.
  • After 2-3 minutes squeeze the gujiyas so the excess water will be removed then put in a serving plate.
  • Now first put curd then put green chutney and jaggery tamarind chutney.
  • Now sprinkle some cumin powder, red chilli powder and finally garnish with some coriander leaves and serve the delicious gujiya chaat.
