How to Make Jhal Muri.

Hey guys today here is another yum snacks recipe from Bengali cuisine which is very famous across the India. This road side eatery dish is well known as jhal muri or jhaal mudi. Mainly this easy to make Indian jhal muri is prepared from puffed rice, onion, tomato and some readily available spices. The best thing about this recipe is that you don’t need fire to make as it is no fire recipe plus you can make it in just no time is well.

In this quick jhal muri recipe we added a special masala which is called muri masala, you will get the method of making this masala also. You can prepare this jhaalmuri recipe for your evening snack or as a starter. Ingredients for Jhal Muri:

Main Ingredients:

250 gm Puffed Rice.
1 Chopped Onion.
1 Chopped Tomato.
½ Chopped Cucumber.
2 tbsp Roasted Peanuts.
¼ Cup Salted Chana Dal.
2 tbsp Grated Coconut.
½ Cup Besan Sev.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

2 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
2-3 Chopped Green Chillies.
Black Salt according to taste.
2 tsp Muri Masala.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
1 tsp Lemon Juice.
2 tbsp Mustard Oil.
Jaggery Tamarind Chutney.

Ingredients for Muri Masala:

2 tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds.
1 tsp Black Salt.
2 tsp Black Pepper Powder.
2 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
2 tsp Garam Masala.
1 tsp Chaat Masala.

Jhal Muri Preparations:

  • In a mixer blender put cumin seeds, black salt, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and chaat masala.
  • Blend it to make fine powder of it, muri masala is ready.
  • In a deep pan put onion, tomato, cucumber, coriander leaves, green chillies, black salt, salty chana dal.
  • Mix all the ingredients very well then add red chilli powder, peanuts, grated coconut and besan sev.
  • Now add puffed rice, jaggery tamarind chutney, mustard oil, muri masala, lemon juice and again mix all the things very well.
  • Now garnish the jhaal muri with some coriander leaves, grated coconut and peanuts and enjoy.
