Indian Tikki Recipe | Sweet Potato Recipe.

Tikki or pattice or patties are very popular as a quick snacks in India, specially in north india side it is very popular and there are huge number of tikki varieties are available. Today here we are with a tempting Indian tikki recipe made from sweet potatoes. This sweet potato tikki is really very simple and easy to make as well as quick too. It goes really very good with green chutney but you can also have this with tamarind chutney or coconut chutney or khajur ki chutney.

This quick Indian tikki is usually prepared for the fasting at the time of Navratri and other festivals in India. Indian peoples are always in search of fasting recipes because there are very less fasting recipes available. Ingredients for Indian Tikki:

Main Ingredients:

500 gm Sweet Potatoes.
2-3 tbsp Rajgira Flour.
2 tbsp Crushed Peanuts.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

2-3 tbsp Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves.
1 Small Finely Chopped Green Chilli.
1 tsp Amchoor Powder.
1 tsp Cumin Powder.
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder.
3 tsp Lemon Juice.
Halite as per taste.
3-4 tbsp Ghee.

Garnishing/Serving:

Green Coriander Chutney.

Indian Tikki Recipe Preparations:

  • In a pressure cooker boil sweet potatoes for 2 whistles.
  • Open the cooker lid and drain all the water and let them cool for couple of minutes.
  • Now peel the skin and mash the sweet potatoes with masher or spoon.
  • Now add spices and salt along with green chillies, coriander leaves and crushed peanuts in it.
  • Squeeze the lemon on it and mix all the ingredients well.
  • Now add Rajgira flour to the mixture and again mix well.
  • Grease your hands with oil then make tikkies from the mixture.
  • Now heat few tablespoon of ghee in a non stick pan then place the tikkies on it.
  • Fry the tikkies on medium flame till become golden brown at bottom.
  • Once done turn the side and again cook it till become golden brown.
  • Take them out in serving plate and serve with green chutney and enjoy.
