How to Make Gujarati Khandvi Recipe.

Hey guys today here is a very simple and easy to make gujarati snacks recipe for you. It is very popular in entire gujarat as well as in other parts of India is well. In gujarat people oftenly prepare this for breakfast and evening snack. This gujarati khandvi is mainly prepared from gram flour and curd. Main thing in making this snack is mixture of gram flour and curd if you make this correctly then definitely you will get mouthwatering khandvi.

This quick gujarati khandvi is favourite of mine and we cook this twice or thrice in month for morning breakfast. Specially kids goanna love this mouth clicking, good looking and easy to make gujarati dish. Ingredients for Gujarati Khandvi:

Main Ingredients:

1 Cup Besan or Gram Flour.
1 Cup Curd (add 1 cup water to make it thin).

Other Spices/Ingredients:

½ tsp Ginger Paste.
2-3 Pinch of Turmeric Powder.
1 tsp Oil.
1 tsp Sesame Seeds.
½ tsp Mustard Seeds or Rai Dana.
2 Pinch of Asafoetida.
Salt according to taste.

Garnishing/Serving:

1 tbsp Grated Coconut.
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.

Gujarati Khandvi Preparations:

  • Add water in curd and mix well, put the curd and gram flour in a mixing bowl and mix well.
  • Now add little more water, turmeric powder, ginger paste and salt, mix all the ingredients well.
  • Make sure that there should be no lumps in mixture.
  • Heat a thick bottom pan with oil, when oil gets hot enough add the gram flour mixture and stir continuously, cook it at medium heat.
  • When mixture become thick lower the heat and stir continuously and cook it for 10-12 minutes.
  • Don’t cook it too much otherwise khandvi will not be thin.
  • Now put the mixture in 2-3 plates to make thin layer just like dosa and spread it with spatula.
  • Let it cool for 15-20 minutes, now with the help of knife cut it into 6 inch long and 2 inch wide strips.
  • Make the rolls from strips and put into a plate.
  • Heat oil for tadka, when oil gets little hot add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds starts slathering add green chilies.
  • Cook it till become light golden brown, add sesame seeds and mix well and turn the heat off.
  • With the help of spoon put this tadka on every khandvi and garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
