Daliya khichdi for weight loss is a very healthy and nutritious Indian main course recipe which is really very delicious in taste. You can prepare this quick daliya khichdi for your morning breakfast or lunch or dinner and serve it with pappadums and any pickle of your choice. If you want to make something that is good for kids, elders or old agers then I must say this is one best food to make. Ingredients for Daliya Khichdi for Weight Loss:

Main Ingredients:

200 gm Daliya or Broken Wheat.
1 Finely Chopped Onion.
1 Finely Chopped Tomato.
1 Finely Chopped Carrot.
½ Finely Chopped Capsicum.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Chilli Paste.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
1 tsp Garam Masala.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
Salt according to taste.
1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves.
3 tbsp Oil.

Garnishing:

Dry Red Chillies.
Tomato Flower.

Daliya Khichdi for Weight Loss Preparations:

  • Heat oil in a nonstick kadai then add in mustard seeds and let it crackle.
  • When mustard seeds starts crackling add in chopped onions and carrots.
  • Cook it till onions become golden brown and carrots get soft.
  • Now add in chopped capsicum and daliya or broken wheat and saute for about 1-2 minutes.
  • After 2 minutes add in turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala and mix well with dalia.
  • Now add in chopped tomatoes and water as per required and lower the heat.
  • Now cover and cook khichdi for about 12-15 minutes, stir in between so it don’t stuck to bottom.
  • Now take a round bowl or container first put coriander leaves then put daliya khichdi.
  • Now un-mould it and garnish it with tomato flower, dry red chillies and serve hot.
