How to Make Bottle Gourd Raita.

Hello friends today here we are with a punjabi raita recipe which is well known as bottle gourd raita. Bottle gourd is very popular as a cooking vegetable and now summer is started so it is one best side dish to make for lunch and dinner. Mainly this raita is prepared from bottle gourd, curd and some spices. Usually people don’t like to have bottle gourd recipes and dishes but if you once try this raita then surely you’ll goanna love this.

This is really very simple and easy to make Indian raita and it takes very less time to cook is well. All the required ingredients to make this quick bottle gourd raita are very simple and commonly available in grocery shops. You can have this healthy and delicious raita with roti, paratha or any other breads of your choice. Along with this you may also like tadka curd rice, drumstick curry, Baingan masala etc…….

Ingredients for Bottle Gourd Raita:

Main Ingredients:

250 gm Chopped Bottle Gourd.
75 gm Curd.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

1 tbsp Finely Chopped Green Chilli and Garlic.
1 tsp Mustard Seeds.
1 tbsp Split Mustard Seeds.
½ tsp Turmeric Powder.
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
Salt according to taste.
2 tbsp Oil.

Garnishing:

Some Coriander Leaves.

Bottle Gourd Raita Preparation:

  • Heat some water in pan then add little salt and bottle gourd in it and cook till bottle gourd gets soft.
  • When bottle gourd becomes soft drain the water and keep bottle gourd aside.
  • Now heat oil in a nonstick pan, when oil gets little hot add mustard seeds and wait till it crackle.
  • Now add green chilli and garlic and cook it little, make sure that they don’t get burnt.
  • Now add boiled bottle gourd along with split mustard seeds, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  • Cook all the spices for little time, when all the spices get cooked nicely turn the heat off and let it cool for few minutes.
  • When it gets cool add curd and mix well and the delicious bottle gourd raita is ready.
  • Garnish it with some coriander leaves and serve with roti, paratha or any other breads or your choice.
