How to Make Aloo Tikki | Potato Patties Recipe | Street Food.

Hello friends today here we are again with a very delicious and famous Indian street food recipe which is known as aloo tikki. This is really very simple and easy to make Indian snacks dish plus requires very less time to cook is well. Mainly it is prepared from boiled and peeled potatoes, frozen green peas and some other Indian spices. Usually in India this dish is prepared using many different ingredients in different Indian cities and every dish has unique and delicious taste.

All the required ingredients to make this quick aloo tikki recipe are very simple and commonly available in grocery shops and markets. In India you will find this potato pattice commonly in street food shops and carts plus Indian people oftenly cook this at home. Ingredients for Aloo Tikki:

Main Ingredients:

10 Medium Size Boiled and Peeled Potatoes.
200 gm Frozen Green Peas.

Other Spices/Ingredients:

½ tsp Coriander Powder.
½ tsp Fennel Powder.
½ tsp Amchoor.
½ tsp Garam Masala.
¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder.
¼ tsp Cumin Seeds.
1 Inch Grated Ginger.
1 Finely Chopped Green Chilli.
1 Pinch Asafoetida.
Salt as per taste.
1 tbsp Oil for stuffing.
Oil for frying tikkis.

Garnishing/Serving:

Tamarind Chutney.
Mango Capsicum Chutney.

Aloo Tikki Preparations:

  • Heat oil in a non stick pan then add in cumin seeds and wait till it starts crackling.
  • Now add in coriander powder, fennel powder, asafoetida, garam masala, red chilli powder, amchoor, ginger, green chillies and mix all the spices well.
  • Now add in green peas along with salt and mix well with all the spices.
  • Now add about 1 tbsp water and cover and cook for little time.
  • Now mash the potatoes with hands or spoon well then add salt as per taste and mix well.
  • Now check the green peas stuffing if it is cooked then turn the heat off and let it covered aside for few minutes.
  • Now put tawa on gas to heat, now grease hands with little bit of oil then take some mashed potatoes and make little thick small sizes of puris from entire potatoes mixture.
  • Now take one puri then put some green peas stuffing on it then cover with another puri and make tikki with hands, make all the tikkis similarly.
  • Now put some oil on tawa and put tikkis for frying, turn the side after every minute so tikkis can be cooked nicely from all sides.
  • Now take out the tikkis in a serving plate and serve with tamarind chutney and mango capsicum chutney.
